About two months ago, Thuy applied and was quickly accepted into PIH. She will be joining a deployment of doctors who will travel to Sierra Leone to, among other things, treat patients affected with Ebola and train local staff in proper Ebola treatment procedures.
She departed for training in Boston on Tuesday, January 20. The week after she will fly to Sierra Leone to work on the ground with PIH.
I've documented most of what has transpired to date, everything from us thinking about volunteering in West Africa to her interviewing and getting accepted.
Below are the stories so far.
- Thuy Applies to Partners in Health
- Thuy Receives Offer to Join Partners in Health in Fighting Ebola in W. Africa
- Thuy's Formal Offer to W. Africa: Preparations and Paperwork
- Thuy's Flying Solo
We've worked out a potential system for her to do quick, short documentations, notes that I could then use to jog her memory and interview her once she's back. That way you can hear all about her amazing journey.
Congratulations, Thuy!
