Thuy offered to purchase and bring medical supplies to the One Body Village compound. OBV got back to us with a list of items; Thuy purchased them yesterday at Costco. These supplies will be distributed across the Saigon and Cambodia compounds. As you can see in the photo, that's not a lot to distribute.
A colleague within our local Vietnamese community had suggested that we put together a Kickstarter campaign for our project work with OBV. Once we get there and assess the situation and needs, we may look to you all for additional support.

You're right. It does seem like a lot for a family but not for a community, let alone a country.
ReplyDeleteThis time you're taking it with you with your own belongings so the shipping cost may not be (relatively) high. Any thoughts on a cost efficient way to deliver it to where you are in the future?
Shipping costs are zero considering Asiana allows 2x check-in, 50lbs/check-in. That means Thuy and I have four boxes we can load for a total of 200lbs. One box is all medical supplies.
DeleteIf we were to ask for a future shipment, the first few options that come to mind are:
* UPS et al
* Freight forwarder (Expeditors)
* Take a friend up on their offer to use their company's shipping relationship discount
That's all I can think of.
